The Scholz Network would like to thank the following businesses for their generous donations provided as prizes during the Chambers “At Home in the Hills” Show. Marketplace Dental, Halton Hills Roofing, Proactive Hockey and Circafit Gym. It was evident during the show that Georgetown is very supportive of the *Shop Local incentives and we are proud to be a part of that.

As some of you may already know, in December the town put out an RFP for a media company to create a digital network inside the Georgetown and Acton arena. We had numerous meetings with the town even prior to the RFP, a presentation and a 16 page document outlining why the Scholz Network was the ideal candidate for the arena project.

The Scholz network along with one other business was chosen to present live. The Scholz Network was not awarded the arena project. This is the second bid that the Town has awarded to a company that is “out of town”. The first company who failed solicited many advertisers and didn’t fulfill local contracts. We pride ourselves on promoting local businesses while keeping revenue within the community.

“The success of local businesses benefits everyone! Shop Local – Shop Halton Hills”
(Taken from the Shop Local Shop Halton Hills campaign)

As the Mayor stated in the re-release of the “Shop Local – Shop Halton Hills” campaign on March 3rd 2017:

“The program was designed to encourage residents to shop locally and raise awareness of the benefits of spending their dollars in their home community.”

“It’s appropriate that in this year of recognition of Canada’s 150 anniversary we remind the community to shop local,” said Mayor Bonnette, adding “Incorporating our community brand in this partnership-based initiative supports our efforts to reflect shared visions and values.”

Our Network helps promote local businesses, maintaining the shop local incentives that the Town promotes and developing close relationships with all organizations including; The Chamber of Commerce, Georgetown Hospital, Georgetown Marketplace, Kiwanis, Women’s Shelter, The Club at North Halton, Ride for Cancer, The Home Show and many others. It’s unfortunate that the “Shop Local” program and what it stands for, wasn’t taken into consideration when awarding the RFP.

We value your business and appreciate your support. We are grateful for the opportunity to work with you, the community and are looking forward to many years of successful business together.

Thank you very much,

Maxx Scholz
